The style guide: everything an essay here can do

Frank Anaya · July 11, 2026 · 1 min read

This post exists to show the machinery — every element a post on this site can use, all in one place. If you're a creator evaluating a custom Ghost build, this is the palette your essays would have.

Headings organize an argument

Body text is set in Source Sans 3 at a size adults can read. Headings are Alegreya, because essays deserve typography with some blood in it. Links look like this, underlined, no guessing.

Third-level headings handle the subpoints

Like this one. Use sparingly; if you need a fourth level, you need an editor.

Quotes carry weight

The price of a rented platform isn't the subscription — it's the exit. That's worth setting apart from the body text, which is what a blockquote is for.

Images, with captions

Images get full-width treatment and honest captions. This one: writing, the old way.

Lists, ordered and not

  1. Ordered lists when sequence is the point
  2. Export first
  3. Redirect second
  4. Cancel the old stack last

Dividers reset the room

And after a divider, a new thought gets clean air. On a live Ghost site this palette extends further — embedded video, audio players, galleries, buttons, email-only sections for members — all native, no plugins.

Want your essays to look like this? That's the product.
